Saree Tales – Me and Nature #Sareetales
Hope you are doing well.
You must be thinking about what took me so long in writing to you. I was not feeling very happy for the past sometimes due to the pandemic. Although I was feeling low one thing which can cheer me a little is when I share my feeling with you. One of the main reasons for doing this is that I love talking to you and secondly because I wanted to tell you something important.
Yesterday while I was taking a walk in my garden amid the trees and flowers, I realized how our lives are dependent on nature and how we all be should thankful and respectful towards nature.
You must be thinking about how The Saree is dependent on nature. Well, let me tell you as you get your food, water, and air to breathe from the environment; I am also dependent on nature for my survival especially when it comes to the Hand-Block version of mine. Of course, there are other synthetic options available but let me tell you I am not very much in favor of my synthetic fabric as they are hazardous for you, the environment, and me. Therefore, here we will stick to the natural or handmade version of me.
Firstly, the fabric used in my creation comes from nature. The cotton, the silk are all bestowed on me by Mother Nature. I know you guys love these fabrics as much as I do.
Secondly, when it comes to Hand Block print even my designs (blocks) are inspired by nature and natural surroundings whether it is the trees, flora, and fauna.
Last but not the least, when it comes to original Hand-Block Print all my colours are derived from nature for example the colour Red is made of dried flowers, the colour blue or indigo made from Indigo Indigofera plant, besides some natural items like Harda, Davaade Ke Phool are used as colouring agent etc.
So now you got how my life is as supported by nature as yours. And now its high time we stop taking things available to us for granted.
We must accept that knowingly or unknowingly all, yes all have exploited the environment and it is high time we realize our mistake before it’s too late. The current situation should be considered a warning from nature to all of us and we need to take it seriously
I am not trying to frighten you, all I want to say that nature has given us a lot more then we need and there is everything we need around us, we just need to use it judiciously.
So stay safe, stay indoors, and definitely stay healthy.
